Boscobel Reenactment - Boscobel, Wisconsin

Boscobel is about 40 miles northwest of Platteville WI and about 60 miles
west of Madison WI.
Take US 61 to Boscobel. If entering the
town from the south, you'll come to a fork in the road. Stay to the right. You'll be on Wisconsin Ave
and you'll see a city park to your right. This will be the event site.

Clinton Reenactment - Clinton, Iowa
-
Take US 30 to US 67 and turn north. Take 67 to Eagle Point Park.
Once in the park follow the road until you see the Battery encampment.
Since there are few lights in the park, it'll be very dark in the evening.
The last few years we have camped in an area that is to your right as you
weave your way through the park. There should be a Battery sign in place.

Crystal Lake Parade - Crystal Lake, Illinois

From Rockford, take Illinois Route 176 to Walkup Rd. Turn right (south)
on Walkup and a few blocks down Walkup to your left will be the Metra
station parking lot.
Park your vehicle there and at the south end of
the parking lot walk west from the intersection. About 3 blocks down
you'll see the assembly point for the parade.

Dollinger Farm Reenactment - Minooka, Illinois

Minooka is southwest of Joliet. Take I-80 to Minooka exit #122,
turn south on Ridge Road off the exit ramp - travel about 5 miles (you'll cross Rt 6) and
turn right at the end of Ridge Road.

Forreston Living History - Forreston, Illinois

We will be located at the newly renovated grade school in Forreston. It will
be in the schools front yard and will be right along Illinois Route 26.
Coming from the Rockford area take US 20 west to Illinois 26 South, continue
south for approximately 14 miles. Arriving in Forreston, you will approach a
V intersection, veer right and stay on Illinois 26 south or 1st Avenue.
We will be approximately 3 blocks south of Illinois 72 camping on the east
side of the road.
If you are coming from the east on Illinois Route 72, Forreston is
approximately 17 miles west of Byron Illinois. Remain on 72 until you
get to a T intersection in front of the library in downtown Forreston and
head south on 1st avenue or Illinois route 26 south. Again, the site will
be approximately 3 blocks south.
Coming from the south stay on Illinois Route 26 go north past the old
cemetery located in town on the east side of the road for approximately
four blocks and you will arrive at the school.

Franklin Grove Reenactment - Franklin Grove, Illinois

The event will be held at Chaplin Creek Village. Friday evening will be live music. Civil War Ball on Saturday evening. Ladies Tea and Fashion
Show on Saturday morning. Period church services on Sunday morning.

Galesburg Reenactment - Galesburg, Illinois

The event is at Lake Story Park which is just north of Galesburg
off of Route 150 (North Henderson Street). Route 150 is accessed from
Route 34.

Lancaster Living History - Lancaster, Wisconsin
-
From the Rockford, Freeport area take US Route 20 East to Illinois 78,
just before Stockton, IL. Go (R) North on 78 to Gratiot, WI. Turn (L)
West on 11 for about six miles to County Highway 23 (just after the
creamery on your right). Turn (R) North on 23 until you reach HWY 81 just
outside of Darlington, WI. Turn (L) West onto 81 after the
Citgo/MCDonalds. This is a 16 mile stretch until you reach the junction with US 80.
Turn (R) onto 80 North through Platteville WI. 80 splits off at 2nd
stoplight, you need to turn (L) and Follow 81 to Lancaster.
Follow the combined Hwy 81/61 (Madison Street)through downtown
Lancaster past the Courthouse Square. Schriener Memorial Library/Ryland Park
is on the (L) West side of Madison Street at Elm Street, just past the
Bowling Alley and Chevy/Dodge car lot. We will probably set up on the
West end of the Park, along Elm and Jefferson.
You may also reach Lancaster by taking 20 all the way to Dubuque, IA
and Hwy 61 & 81 North to Lancaster. It is further and has more hills but
fewer turns.

Lockport Reenactment - Lockport, Illinois

Lockport is south of I-88 and I-355, and north of Joliet. The reenactment
will be held at Dellwood Park, just south of downtown Lockport.
Coming from I-88, exit at Illinois Route 53 South. Take Route 53
south through Romeoville to Illinois Route 7. At Route 7, turn left
(east) and go over the I & M canal to Lockport. Go to the first stoplight
in town and turn right (south). Continue south for about a mile or
two to Dellwood Park which will be to your left and up a hill. You'll
have to look closely but there should be signs for the reenactment.

Marengo Reenactment - Marengo, Illinois

Coming from the east on US 20, turn south at Park Drive. This will
lead you into Indian Oaks Park. The site is at the west end of the Park.
Coming from the west on US 20, turn south on Meyer Rd. Turn left at O'Connell Rd and
continue on O'Connell to the park.

Mount Carroll Living History - Mount Carroll, Illinois

We will be at the former Shimer College campus located on
Route 78. The entrance to use will probably be the one on 78, and it is
just north of the Route 64, Route 78 intersection.

Rochelle Living History - Rochelle, Illinois
-
Rochelle is just west of I-39 and IL Route 38. IL 38 is about 3 miles north
of I-88.
From I-39, take IL 38 west.
After you cross IL Route 251, IL 38 becomes Jones Rd. When you
get to 9th St, turn left (south) and continue on to 10th Ave (about 2 blocks).
At 10th Ave, turn right (west) and continue for about 6 blocks to Atwood Park,
which will be on your right.
Coming from I-88, exit at IL Route 251. Take IL 251 north to 10th Ave and turn
left at 10th. Zigzag to your right (at 9th St make a right to 10th Ave) and
go left (west) again on 10th Ave. Continue for about 6 blocks to Atwood Park,
which will be on your right.

Rockford Library, 215 N Wyman St. Rockford IL

April 19, 2008. Open to public 2:00 - 4:00 PM immediately following the Lincoln-Douglas debate at Memorial
Hall, the library will have their exhibition opening ceremony and reception.
We will provide a Color Guard as well as reenactors (civilian and military)
to mingle and meet with the crowd.
May 10, 2008. Open to public 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Specific arrival time hasn’t been finalized, but we are to set up a living history camp
behind the main library along the river esplanade. We will to set up some tents, have a
cannon on display and fire the cannon. No skirmish. Please bring show and tell items to
display for the public.

Saunemin Living History - Saunemin, Illinois

From Rockford, south on I 39 to Il 116. East on 116 through Pontiac. Saunemin will
be on the north side of the road.

Stockton Reenactment - Stockton, Illinois
-
Stockton is about midway between Freeport and Galena on US 20.
Coming from US 20, turn south at Curtiss and travel about 3 miles to
Schuller Rd. Turn right (west) and go about 1/8 of a mile to the site.
From Illinois Route 78 north, turn right at Schuller Rd and travel about
¾ of a mile to the encampment.

Sublette Living History - Sublette, Illinois

Sublette is located on US 52, about 7 miles southeast of Amboy; Amboy
in turn is about 10 miles southeast of Dixon.
Once in town, take Main St. west for 2 blocks to West St. Turn left
on West St. (south) and in 2 more blocks you'll see a campground on the right,
which will be our site.
Main St. is located between 2 sets of cement grain silos on the west side of US 52.

Wade House Reenactment - Greenbush, Wisconsin

Greenbush is located on Highway 23, midway between Sheboygan and Fond DuLac.
If coming up on I43, turn left on Highway 23. Look for signs to the
Wade House.

Wauconda Reenactment - Wauconda, Illinois
-
This event takes place at the Lakewood Forest Preserve, and the contact
address is 27277 Forest Preserve Drive, Wauconda IL. It appears that it
is right along Route 176, which is the highway through Crystal Lake.
But it does not appear that 176 is a straight line between the two towns.

Waukegan Living History - Waukegan, Illinois

The event will take place in Bowen Park. From Rockford, take Route 173 east to Green Bay Road (Route 131). Turn right (south) to Sunset
Avenue (approx 5 miles), turn left (east) to Sheridan Road. Sunset changes names
to Golf and then becomes Greenwood Avenue. When you get to the intersection
of Greenwood and Sheridan, turn left. The main entrance to Bowen Park is about a block
up on the right.
There is a pedestrian bridge over Sheridan Road right at the
entrance. At the intersection of Greenwood and Sheridan, there is Bob
and Anne's restaurant (open 24 hours) and a Mobil with a Dunkin Donuts.

Zion Living History - Zion, Illinois

Zion is far north of Chicago, just south of Wisconsin and
close to Lake Michigan. We will be camping in Shiloh Park.
From Rockford, take IL Route 173 into Zion. Turn right (south) at Sheridan
Rd. In about 1/2 - 3/4 mile turn right again at the intersection of Sheridan
and Shiloh Blvd at the light (not at Shiloh Blvd at the north end). Go west
about 3-4 blocks until you get to the intersection where Christ Community
Church is on your right; make a left turn and you should see the camp located in Shiloh Park.
